Hello!
I'm Ana Carolina de Março. In Portuguese, "Março" means March. In Roman mythology, March represents Mars, the god of war. So, one could say I'm a fighter; it was predestined in my name. Besides my heroine's red cape, I have a deep love for cats and crafting.
I'm a Brazilian identity designer and artist based in The Netherlands, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design with a Major in Visual Programming from São Paulo State University in 2007.
My journey in graphic design began when I was a child, helping my father assemble price tags for his stationery shop with my mother during the digital revolution. Graphic production has always fascinated me, from alcohol-printed stencils in kindergarten to analog typewriters, Xerox machines, and dot matrix printers. I grew up influenced by the fantastic universes created by Mauricio de Souza, Quino, Bill Watterson, Walt Disney, and Studio Ghibli. During university, I was introduced to the works of William Morris, Escher, Alfons Maria Mucha, and many others, whose influence inspired me to pursue a path of constant growth and exploration. Graphic design and art have always been my source of wonder, and I find joy in blending new technological tools of the digital age with traditional handcraft techniques.
My career began with designing flash websites and evolved into crafting visual identity projects, products, and branding. Being part of the analog-to-digital transition has left its mark on me. Manual craftsmanship is a fundamental aspect of my research in the pursuit of identity and connection. The creative process keeps getting curiouser and curiouser!
If my work resonates with you, please let me know :)
